De petites quantit\u00e9s d\u2019eau, d\u2019oxydes d\u2019azote, d\u2019oxydes de soufre, de sulfure d\u2019hydrog\u00e8ne et d\u2019oxyg\u00e8ne sont souvent pr\u00e9sentes, selon le proc\u00e9d\u00e9 de capture et les \u00e9tapes de traitement en amont.<\/p><p>Les \u00e9tudes montrent que lorsque du CO\u2082 contenant ces impuret\u00e9s traces est comprim\u00e9 et transport\u00e9, des r\u00e9actions chimiques peuvent se produire et g\u00e9n\u00e9rer :<\/p><ul><li>De l\u2019acide sulfurique (H\u2082SO\u2084)<\/li><li>De l\u2019acide nitrique (HNO\u2083)<\/li><li>Du soufre \u00e9l\u00e9mentaire et d\u2019autres esp\u00e8ces soufr\u00e9es r\u00e9actives<\/li><\/ul><p>M\u00eame lorsque les impuret\u00e9s demeurent \u00e0 des niveaux consid\u00e9r\u00e9s comme acceptables, les acides form\u00e9s peuvent acc\u00e9l\u00e9rer de fa\u00e7on significative la corrosion des m\u00e9taux. Dans certaines conditions, ils peuvent attaquer l\u2019acier des pipelines, fragiliser les soudures et r\u00e9duire la dur\u00e9e de vie des vannes, des joints et de l\u2019instrumentation. Des fluctuations dans la performance de la capture, la chimie de r\u00e9g\u00e9n\u00e9ration ou les conditions de compression peuvent provoquer \u00e0 tout moment des pics d\u2019impuret\u00e9s.
